Good to know
Everything you might want to ask.
Ordering, personalisation, paper, delivery, and everything after you reserve. If your question isn't here, write to us.
01
Ordering & reserving.
A few weeks ahead is plenty for most pieces, and sooner is always welcome since it gives more room for proofing. In-stock pieces can move faster still. If your event is close, write to us; we'll usually make it work.
It depends on the piece. Most printed pieces start at ten, including invitations, save the dates, menus, coasters, matchboxes and tambourines. Paper place cards start at twenty, fans at thirty, and napkins at one hundred. Matchboxes in a colour outside the core range start at thirty. Table numbers have no minimum, so you can order a single one. Every product page shows its own minimum beside the quantity box, and if you are unsure about something, write to us and we will let you know.
Yes, and many do. Invitations are ordered from ten, and they are often the first piece; you can return weeks or months later for menus, place cards, and thank-you cards designed to match. We keep your design choices on file so you don't need to repeat them.
Yes. Choose the pieces you're drawn to and we'll print and post samples for you to keep. The cost is credited to your first order.
You pay in full at checkout. We then send a digital proof to approve, and nothing is printed until you're happy with it. We accept credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Until you sign off on your final proof, almost any change is possible: quantities, paper, finish, or variant. Once production starts, changes can no longer be made. We always tell you before any change adds to the total.
02
Personalisation.
Once you've reserved, we send a questionnaire. It collects the words and details that go on your pieces: names, dates, the menu, your guest list and table numbers. Within a few days, you'll receive a digital proof, and refinements continue until it's right.
Yes. Send a vector file (SVG, PDF, or AI) if you have one; we can also redraw from a high-resolution image. There's no extra cost for a supplied monogram, and to start we're drawing custom monograms at no charge too. Just share your brief.
On the products that allow it, yes. Upload your artwork when you order and we'll set a digital proof from it for you to approve before we print. If a file needs adjusting to print well, we'll let you know.
Both are welcome. Long-form ("Saturday Seventeenth of April, Two Thousand and Twenty-Seven") suits more classical settings; Roman numerals work well on table numbers. Specify in the questionnaire; if you'd like our recommendation, we'll share it.
Yes. Many couples have different wording for the ceremony invitation versus the reception card, or have language preferences that vary across pieces (Italian on the menu, English elsewhere). Specify in the questionnaire or in the proofing rounds.
We refine until you're happy. Most orders take two or three rounds; some need only one. If you need more time before signing off, just say. We won't rush you.
03
Paper & finishes.
We work with premium papers, chosen for the piece and the finish. The specific paper for your order is confirmed at proofing. A printed sample lets you see the finish in person before deciding.
Our current methods are digital print for paper goods and UV print for accessories. The right method is matched to each surface. Other methods are added as new products land.
04
Lead time.
It depends on the piece, and we can often move quickly. In-stock pieces often ship within a day or two; pieces that go through proofing take longer, usually a few weeks. If we're ordering paper in for you, allow around two to four weeks. We confirm the timing for your order when you reserve.
We'll do our best. Rush orders depend on what's already in production. Write to us with your date and what you need, and we'll let you know quickly whether it's possible. Rush orders go by Express Post.
If you haven't yet signed off on a proof, we can pause the order with no penalty. After sign-off, the production date is locked, but we can hold the finished pieces with us until you need them. Tell us as soon as you know.
If anything slips on our side during production, we tell you the same day and we make it right. Every piece we send carries a workmanship guarantee.
05
Shipping & delivery.
Australia-wide with tracking. Standard shipping is $10, express is $15, and orders of $200 or more ship free. New Zealand is a flat $20. We do not ship beyond Australia and New Zealand yet, so write to us if you are further afield and we will see what is possible.
Pieces are packed carefully so they arrive intact. Multi-piece orders ship together where possible. Branded packaging is in development.
Yes. You'll receive a tracking link the day the courier collects your order.
Depending on the courier and your address, some parcels need a signature. If you're not home, the courier usually leaves a card and either re-delivers or holds your parcel at a nearby post office or collection point for you to pick up.
06
Returns & remakes.
You can cancel any time before you approve your proof, since nothing is printed yet. Once you've approved your proof, personalised, made-to-order stationery isn't returnable; every piece is unique to your event. If there's a fault with the workmanship, or the order doesn't match your signed-off proof, we remake at no cost.
If anything about the finish is wrong (a print fault, colour off-tone, a miscut, packaging damaged), we make it right. We print in Australia, and we're here for the long run.
If the typo was on the proof you signed off, we'll reprint at cost (materials only, not design). If we missed it after a corrected proof was approved, we reprint at no charge. Either way, write to us straight away.
07
Bespoke.
A standard order starts from one of our designs, and we personalise the wording and details for you. Bespoke is when we design something new from scratch, your own crest, custom typography, or an unusual format. If you're not sure which yours is, send a request and we'll tell you.
Bespoke pricing depends on quantity, pieces, and complexity. The bespoke request form is where we begin; once we've read your brief, we send a proposal with the price for your project.
It varies with the project, but we move quickly. Once we're aligned on the design and you've signed off, we can usually get it to you in good time. We'll give you a clear timing with your proposal.
Every bespoke project is designed by us. Bespoke shares the same visual hand as the rest of Solène Details, without ever feeling like a variant of another piece.
08
Our name.
Solène, with an accent on the first e. The studio's full name is Solène Details, which is why the website is solenedetails.com.au. Many couples reach us by searching Solene Details or Solen Details without the accent, and every spelling lands here. However you found us, you're in the right place.
